Wednesday, Earlier Morning

Got up at 8 today… that’s about an hour or so earlier than normal. Laundry is being done so I can have clean cloths for work today. We’ll see if they get dry in time… no good driving for a half hour in wet cloths.

Anyway, it’s been a pretty good weekend, I’d say. Saturday night I took mom to Red Lobster as sort of a be-lated/something nice to do in the first place thing. It’s her favorit restraunt, and it’s been a long long while since she’s been before. So that was a nice sirprise for her.

Sunday I… what did I do sunday? Oh yeah! I went to Brian and Drea Fergasons house with my mom. Brian showed me his new toys and projects, as usualy. We took a ride in this old beater truck he got for next to nothin. He’s dubbed it, “Bubba Truck.” It’s a grey 88′ Ford F-150. He’s fixing various things that are wrong with it and in the mean time uses it to freight things to and from Drea’s plays.

Monday was nuts at work. Crazy nuts. I was really busy all day long. It was actually pretty kewl because I was the wanted man… which kept me busy until 7:55 PM… normaly I’m leaving around 7:15. I only took a 40 minute lunch too…

Monday night I popped by Lindsays house and took a shower. Then we teleported ourselves to Erin’s house. By teleported, I mean that I drove while Lindsay rode in my awsomely Peugeot. Laugher. Erin sitting on her computer. Joy. Erin still on her computer. More Laugher. I managed to bring Erin’s roomie, Kristin(sp?) into conversation every time she walked in the room. It’s always fun scaring… I mean meeting new people. Lindsay and I shared a blanket on the floor… for a while… then I just had a pillow to put over my feet because Lindsay is a blanket hog. blither blither…

Tuesday not enough time for tueday… I need to ge to work soon. It always seems to come to that, doesn’t it? Anyway… played Mario Party, watched Office Space, went out for Chicken Teriaki when Erin came back. Picked up… Crystol? or is it another Kristin? to many ka sounding people in that place. Pick up my car, went to watch Erin roxor the bowling lanes like only a lefty bowler can. Then Hugs and tears Lindsay and I left. Lindsay’s house, hung out for a while. Went to my house to have some pizza and watch a movie. No movie was watched, but it was an entertaining TV show. Lindsay goes home. I goto bed. Now I’m here… waiting for my cloths to dry….. I hate waiting.

Holy Sunday Batman!!

It’s been a busy day. Woke up, with Lindsay. She spent the night, in an innocent way. FYI, we’ve been around eachother quite a bit over a few weeks without any inter-active melt-downs. We’ve had fun times, and I don’t just mean physically. She complained about how I was venting about her earlier on in my live journal, but I never say anything good. So there you have it, something a little more personal than I usually like to give 😉

Anyway, we went to breakfast with Justin and Sara. I had this great omlette. So good. Yummy. Then we took Lindsay back to the appartment so she could take her car back home… she had to work. The rest of us went in search of the place Justin’s band, Three Day GirlFriend, was going to play. It’s this little saloon in portland near burnside. Anyway, Justin wasn’t feeling so hot, so I dropped them off back at their hotel and went home to crash myself.

A couple of hours later Jessica and Luc came over for a little get-together. We had yummy ribs and watched Patch Adams. I love that movie. After dinner I went back to the saloon where Justin and the band were waiting to set up. I sat around and talked to Sara while Justin exerted nervous energy on the Astroids machine and a beer. They finally set up, sound tested and played.

Three Day GirlFriend is a metal like band… sort of… don’t know how to classify them. It consists of Justin: uber drummer, Josh: Vocals, Dan: Guitar 1, Carrey: Guitar 2, and P..aul?: Bass. I always have troubles remembering his name because I don’t talk to him much. Anyway, they sounded pretty good. I was a little disapointed though because the sound wasn’t mixed right(I think). I wasn’t able to hear the details in the guitar or bass parts. Most of the time it just hit you as a wall of chorded noise changing in sink. Some of their songs have rad, distinked riffs; but I could barely pick them out this time around. I also couldn’t really understand what Josh was singing… but I guess that’s normal.

Anyway, now my ears are ringing like mad, I’m tired, I’m going to bed. Peace out everybody.

Yesterday… all my troubles seem so far away…now it looks as tho they’re here to stay…

Well, been a couple of days. I’m on book three of the book seriese I’m reading… I also am at level 10 in Morrowind. Something to be proud of, to be sure. I should get a raise for it, I think 😉

Hmm… sister came over yesterday. She and mom made stockings. I made pudding… we had spageti. It was a nice, relaxing day off.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I almost died today. My car has this thing with the transmission where 4th gear doens’t work… rather than shifting to 4th it sifts to 1st. Anyway, I got out to get the mail today… without thinking I put the car into drive. All is fine until I get to the freeway. Bad times. Since 3rd comes before 4th, I’m going around 45 before it downshifts to 1st. So my transmission instantly over heats and locks up, which means my tires completely STOPED TURNING! I was in the second lane from the right, still not completely on the freeway of this particular on ramp, and since there was a staggering light before I got on there were no cars around me. Anyway, skidding to a stop from 45mph is no fun. Without rolling back tires you pretty much either just keep the car going the way it’s going… or spin. This didn’t occur to me as I instinktively turned right to get the heck off the road… AKA, spin we go! Amazingly I managed a 180 degree skid neatly parked on the right side of the road. I was facing oncomming traffic, but at least I was out of the way. I sat there for a couple minutes thinking about what to do… a few things popped in my head, none of them any good from the stand point of being broke and having expired tags. I turned the car back on put it in 3rd -the gear I’m supposed to use my car in- and hammered it. With a loud THUNK the transmission freed itself. I calmly turned the car around when traffic was gone… and here I am. Safe at work. 🙂

WABAM! UPDATE!!!!!… ?

Where do I begin. It’s been a while and a half since I even looked at this. Life’s been a little busy. I think what happened after the last update was my car, the POS Peugeot, it’s transmission locked up while I was driving. It just froze, right there in the middle of the road. Since it was locked up I couldn’t push it off of the road. It took two other guys stopping to help rock it out of its jam and then it ran perfectly fine. WTF?!

Two or three days later I tried to get a new car. I researched. I oogled at cars I couldn’t afford and eventually found a nice ’95 Nissan Altima in Salem for $3000. Applied for three loans, all three declined. Boom. Dead in the water. So much for that, eh?

Thanksgiving was fun. Got up to have breakfast with my father. He lives at his parents house(how wierd would that be?). So my sister and I stuck around until people started showing up for the feast. We ate some. Laughed alot… then head over home where mom made us more food. Three meals… I was stuffed to the brim.

Friday night went to Jesse’s to hang out with his peeps. They did lots of fun things. Watch Equilibrium. OMG! Awsome movie that I never heard of! I liked it enough to go out and buy it the next day.

Here’s the primis if you care: There’s a third world war, someone got it in their heads that emotion is the cause for these wars because it causes hate, greed, anger, so on. So in an effort to supress emotion they must also shun things that are good. Love, art, music, they wear gloves on their hands so as not to actually touch anything, they have white paper over their windows so they can’t see the sun rise or the city, they take this injected drug that supresses emotional extremetys. There are those the resist this movement; art lovers, feeling people of the world, hide away and are hunted down by the government like people with a deadly disease. The main character(s) of the movie are Clerics, a tranch coat toteing elite fighter for the government that can efficiantly, calmly without emotion, clear a room of resistance with martial art style gun slinging(at least as good as Matrix 1). Speaking of Matrix; Christian Bale’s performance made me realise how poorly Kianu Reeves expresses emotion. lol.

After the movie we sported some DDR action(I mainly watched), I had tickle fights with Amy, someone I’ve only talked to three times. Eventually people started to leave, those who stayed got our tetris on. I forget what else happened… but I was up until 5… I woke up at 8 the next day. Yeah… Monster energy drink is your friend.

Later THAT evening we went to see Alexander. Don’t do as we did. Horrible movie. I wont go into my reasons, don’t want to put too much of a negative vibe on someone looking forward to the flick. But yeah… I’m usually a very easy person to please when it comes to movies. I nearly walked out of this one. Three hours of almost complete nothing. The only saving grace is that Angelina Jolie(with a russian accent! wtf? lol) and Val Kilmer play pretty good roles. I liked their scenes the best out of the entire movie.

We went to Sheries and ate and talked and so on. Then people went their own way.

Sunday night we watched some Star Trek. Then Desprate House Wives came on… Jesse likes that show for some reason. I’d never seen it, so I thought I’d give it a chance. Sigh… I don’t understand what is appealing about the show, asside from some attractive middle aged women. Oh well, no harm done. Then we watched Star Gate… and finally did the tetris thing again. Very addictive, tetris. Who would think that such a simple game could keep us entertained for a whole 4 hours?

That’s all I’m saying for now… until next time.

Good Morning Neva Land

Yesterday was a day at work. People came in, I helped them as best as I could, and people left. After work I went to see Incredibles with Jess. Not to be confused with Jessica or Jesse. Jessica is my sister. Jesse is a guy. Jess is Jessica that I call Jess because I know too many people with names that sound similar so any defination between them label-wise makes it easier for people to know who I’m talking about without haveing to explain it to them every time… just once. Hopefully. Anyway, The Incredibles was a very good movie, I thought. Action. Adventure. Charecters struggling with their family and who they are, and nice happy ending. I enjoyed the plot and found it all very well thought out, as I find Pixar movies normaly are. Jess wasn’t so impressed… but she tends to get a gut feeling in her persona and once it’s there it doesn’t like to stray. For this movie the baby wierded her out and that’s all she talks about even though it was 5 seconds of the hour and 45 minute movie.

Back to the plot thing, because it’s something to talk about. While watching Pirates of the Carribean I realised that what truely makes any form of entertainment great are the writers. Pirates is the most fun I’ve seen a movie since The Princess Bride. Those are the kinds of movies I see over and over. The ones that use cleaver and witty banter effortlessly as they interweave plots on top of plots. Mmm… nothing as tastey as a movie that intregues interest and makes you think, laugh, and go ohhh and ahh at the same time. 🙂

w00t!

Yeah, home depot is a no go. They don’t have room for me, so I’m now officially not a De Pot member any longer. Umm… not much really happened today. Just work and stuff… things are going pretty damn good there. I think that the assosiates are getting used to me. The know-it-all of the group isn’t looking at me like a moron as much any more.

Oh yeah, I played Unreal Tournament 2004 tonight and I BEAT JESSE TWICE at it. This may sound like no a big thing… maybe even egotistical gloating. BUT you have no idea. Were’ talking hundreds, nearing thousands of games here. Think of the game you know best. Now think of the best person you know personaly at that game. Now imagine, if you can, that some switch got tripped in you, and suddenly you’re as good as that person… maybe even a little better. That’s how I’m feeling right now. Normaly I am playing at my BEST by getting half Jesse’s score. Playing that well I’m feeling that I gave him a little compatition. Tonight, not only did I beat him… in the second game he was THIRD place. I’m savoring this moment while I can because Jesse HATES losing. BTW, this fact adds to this days sweetness since he’s a cocky little punk when he’s winning. Alas, I expect to be severely pounded back into my place tomorrow night.

Anyw00t… I got payed… wonder how I’ll spend it…

Show the world my quality

Yeah, and exclusive sneak peak for anyone who happens to look here. I just posted the my website. I worked on it almost all day on Tuesday, and have something that reasimbles what it will look like, the layout still needs a little tweaking. And I’m not far enough along with content to make it worth anyones while to tell friends about it in a massive scale yet. Have a look-see. The concept is there… there is one broken link that I’m aware of(ironicly it’s the live journal link). When that happens just click refresh and things will go back as they should be.

Anyway, I’m tired… it’s all in my head. I wonder if that’s a usual thing for one to admit about ones self? I’ve been confused, belittled, and felt like a moron so many times since joining this new job. On one hand I enjoy the challenge, on the other hand I’m a guy who usually hears nothing but praise about my computer smarts. It’s a little un-nerving going back to being the child, going over the rules to your favorit game on a level of intricusy that makes your head spin. You should see some of the model numbers on mother boards and chipsets and sockets and memory types and expansion slots. I understand each of them of course, but I don’t have every individual product detail out there memorised for random access. But at this rate I will. Then I’ll be an uber-nerd. For the mean time, I’m going to sleep.

Wierd Dreams While Sick

Yeah, I’ve got a sniffle and a sore throught. Why does it always seem to happen when I start a new job? It happened when I started at Home Depot.

I had a wierd dream last night too… I think it was actually episode II of a former dream I had not long ago… but I don’t remember that one much. It started out where I was in the place with trees, there was a random car and my dad’s Hyundai in a parking lot over yonder… and apparently it was at my dad’s house because I was afraid of waking him up by walking in the door. But he ended up calling me, he heard me stomping around but was too lazy to get out of bed or something. Anyway… I forgot what I had to say to him… I think it ended up just being “Hi, how’re things?” But apparently I was late for work, so I left in my Peugeot(I have this car in my dreams too, how depressing). I’m driving along… and there’s a train trax too the left of me… only I’m looking at me driving the car from the front… umm… something about the train made me think it was a good idea to ride my bike… so my mind did a cut scene and the car was gone and I was riding my old BMX bike…. THEN I realised I was going to be late to work, so I wished I had my car… I rode up to this big white building with Roman pillars and my car was inside… next scene, I’m riding and I see my ORC head master in the distance… he looked like one of the green guys tusky guys from Morrowind, not the LOTR orcs. Anyway, he said I was late and for this I was to wash dishes with sand. The funny thing about this orc, besides that he’s an orc, is that he usually speaks in riddles… very wierd, but since he’s in my head I know exacly what he’s talking about. The dishes turned out being these wooden objects that didn’t resimble forks, spoons or knifes… but apparently I didn’t think anything of this and started rubbing them against wet sand. As I did they changed color… interesting eh? Anyway… then the dream gets a little fuzzy, the main dude had a little chat with me, they showed my random funny looking flash cars… I was standing in front of a class teaching and something else happened… like I said… fuzzy. Very interesing, I actually enjoyed the dream… too bad I ended up waking from it and feeling like crap @ 4. Had a drink of water and went back to sleep and didn’t dream any more.

Anyway, time for work…

MMMmm… munchyness

Exactly one week was the last time I wrote. Oh well, so far that I know of I have an audince of two or three anyway. I’m just sitting here a half an hour before work and eating a quadruple decker peanut-butter and jelly eggo(yes the waffles) sandwitch. Hey, it was quick, easy and I love PBJ. Hmm… events… well, last monday was my day off and I spent the whole day playing UT2004 and BattleField Vietnam. Yah, lots of killing friends, curses, laughing at silly bots and I watched “They Were Soldures.” Wow, that was a good movie. It was emotional too, I can’t emagine what it’s like to be in a family with soldures. My cousin went to Iraq for a little while, but that’s still a little detached. I would hear about him here and there from grandparents or a cousin. But to be a brother or dad, or son, always worrying and wondering if they’re ok. That would be tough.

Anyway, we played until aobut 4:30 am(we started about noon the day before :p) then Jesse and Ben introduced me to Trogdor, and some of Strongbads other e-mails. We laughed, then we cryed when we realized that we had to work the next day… so with burning eyes, explosions behind our lids and twitching mouse fingers Ben and I slept on the floor with a blanket and pillow(each) near the computers while Jesse got to sleep in his comfy bed. It didn’t matter though, I was out in an instant.

More Adventurous Rambling

Isn’t it nice coming home to your own shower? You stay at other peoples houses and use their showers, and you’re greatfull for that. A persons bathroom is one of those sacred places… you don’t go in there because it’s one of two places you’re most likely to find things you don’t want to see. But the showers are always too soft, or too short, or it doesn’t get hot enough. My shower has a nosle that turns it into a pressure washer, going from that to just about anything seems like you’re rinsing under a dripping fosset.

Anyway, back to it. I got up to goto church the next morning. Made a quick stop at Freddy’s to pick up a belt and a t-shirt to go under my button up white shirt. I arrive in such a manner that I can see anyone leaving first service, and get to meet with people coming the the second. It was an interesting event. All of my old friends were a little busy. I didn’t plan with them like I did with Justin, and I don’t expect them to stop their lifes for me. I had some fun chats, eventually gave up trying to reconnect with some and went back to Justin’s. We went to a place called Tin Tin Chinese. It’s a Chinese buffette, and was really good and awsome. They even had crab and shrimp on the buffette tables. There was a sushi bar in one part, Justin told me about it after I was already full though :\ I was in the mood for trying new things. Oisters aren’t very good… they have a odd texture too.

Then we went to the mall. Visited Spencers, Software Ect., and joked and laughed. It happens that I saw Makiko there, but I didn’t know if it was her, she looked too different from how I saw her 3 years ago so I didn’t approach her. After that we went to the bowling ally and threw a round… bowling is a strange ‘sport’ for me. I start of, not good, but my aim isn’t that bad either. As I bowl I get worse and worse until I’m throwing gutter balls. After the round we went to talk Bob in the Bowling Bar. Talked and had good times. Justin had a brew, Sara a Mike’s lite. I had Sprite. Then I introduced Justin to a version of DDR that the bowling place had that didn’t let you pick what skill set you wanted! We lasted about 15 seconds before it said “YOU SUCK, GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE L00ZERZ!” Or something like that. Then we went back to the apartment and played Soul Caliber II until band practice. Loud and much better than I heard them before I got an exclusive concert as they played their line up all the way through to work some of the bugs out. 3 Day Girlfri3nd is the name of the band, check the the web site if you wanna hear. I’ll warn you that their sound files don’t do them justice, they sound awsome live.

Go home, goto sleep… not much else happened that day.

Next day I picked up Makiko Watanabe from her host familied house. As soon as I saw her I knew that she was who I saw at the mall. It’s really interesting to hang out with someone of a completely different culture. She was amazed how I chatted with strangers as they rung up items or prepaired my food. Apparently they don’t do anything like that in Japan. Of course that just made me want to show off and do it more, and sometimes get her to chip into the conversation. But they don’t say, “What’s up?” or “How’re you today?” or anything, when they see their friends they say there names and ask what they’re doing there. The only time they meet new people is in class or fellow co-workers. I think it would be fun to visit Japan and drive them all nuts with my crazy extrovertous head nods, smiles and good mornings!

Hmm… first we went to South High and walked the halls, she took pictures with her nifty little high technology camara. I don’t think we have that model in the US yet. Then we took a drive over to the park and walked around. I was worried cuz she had these little high heel shoes, I inquired about them a number of times, but she said they were quite comfortibal to her. I still don’t believe her. Then we went to the mall and ate food. She asked to goto Spencers, and I got to explain a few crude American jokes to her. Like what the difference between “a bitch” and “THE bitch”. What “Tits” mean. And other various things I never expected I would explaining to her. She was laughing the entire time, at me as much as at the witty bottle openers. I don’t think she’s as much of a good girl as her inocent Japanese persona makes her out to be.

After that I tried to make her my stylist and pick out what color shirt I should wear with the jeans I had on. I was wearing a long sleeve shirt on a hot day, and everything else I brought was dirty. Eventually she picked a plain black shirt, I think it was too much pressure for her. It was fun though. Then we went to Circuit City, she got a CD and a sun visor CD holder like the ones I have in my car. We went to see Starsky and Hutch. She said she thought it was funny, but I never saw her laugh except for the part where an oriental guy was saying that all americans look the same to him, then Owen Wilson said all orientals look the same to HIM. Not a very good movie, but it passed time by a little.

Finally we had coffee… well, she had hot chocolet and I had a large carmel mocha freeze for the drive home. We sat and talked. I learned Japanese words and asked about how she talks when she’s with her friends in Japan. All in all, that day alone would have made the three day trip worth it, but luckely I had a blast the entire time I was down there. I needed that break, it’s refueled a side of me that living in Portland dranes away and contenues to suck at ever after you’re dry. Anyway, time to goto work.
