2011 Birthday BBQ

We had an unneeded extra hour to get things ready since everyone was late, so I spent the time goofing around with Linux.  When Amy arrived I lit the coals and eventually put the burgers and dogs on.  Leza, Evin and various other girly friends of Caitlin came along shortly after the meats were meet-able. Chatting with peeps off and on and somewhere in there I amused myself playing beach-ball tag with Lorelai.  Usually she tries to get the ball, I let her get the ball and as she runs away or runs back my way I tap it out of her hand and bat it around a bit playing like I’m keeping it away from her.  Repeat.

Food was good.  The cupcakes cakes Caitlin got were scrumptious.  Eventually people started trickling out. Caitlin and some others left at the same time.  She went to the American Idol concert, others I’m not sure.  Ashley and her kid-friend stayed around for a while playing some princess game show thing with Jenny.  Eventually the only people left were Evin, Kip, Jenny, Lore, and myself.

Had long talks/listens about various things with Kip and Evin; epistemology and relationship stuff are the topics that stand out to me.  With Jenny we chatted about the history of eastern philosophy, history of marijuana, as well as other stuff.

When Kip and Jenny took off Evin and I watched IP Man which was a fantastic movie.  I have a review in the works if you’re curious.  Took Evin home, put Lorelai to bed, and I dinked around with Linux stuff until Caitlin came home.

Happy New Yeah!!

It is 2005, and I am so there! lol. Went to Luke’s house for new years eve. In case any one who reads my posts doesn’t know, my sister is engadged to this guy Luke. She was there too, obviously, as well as Lindsay and Lukes roomie Brendon. It wasn’t a very exciting time… we drank champaign and watched Dodge Ball, this one Garden movie with Natalie Portman and the dude from scrubs, and finally Collateral. In other words, it wasn’t unlike any other night… save for in between movies we watched the ball drop in Time Square… three house after it actually dropped, obviously. lol, I talked to my friend, Miki, the Eve of New years Eve and she was in the process of celebrating new years. Her family lives in Japan, so that’s where she is for the Christmas break.

Yesterday was rather fun. I didn’t do much the first half of the day… bought printer ink, bird seed and corn on el cob. I came back to play with my new game controller until Lindsay brought me back to the real world. We went to look at cars, cuz she wrecked hers 😉 She hates it when I say that. But it was fun… just going from used car lot to used car lot on 82nd-there’s like 3.8 million of them over there-avoiding car sales people who want to tell us their life story and mainly looking at cars. I need a new car too, remember?

Anyway, after that we went back to her house and ripped the lights off her christmas tree… all 9 strands of them! ONE TREE! Intricately wrapped around each and every little twig! At least I smell pine fresh now. Finally we headed over to Jess’s house-friend girl Jess-picked her up and went to see The Aviator. I liked the movie. I’d rarely even heard of Howard Hughs before this movie. What and interesting guy/story! It was wierd because he was a little crazy; by a little crazy I mean he would repeate the same thing 29 and a half times and he had that germ phobia. A good movie to see once, I think.

Family Toots

I have my dad’s Hyundai today! w00t! I shuld break my car more often (;

LAN party tonight! w00t! So much for sleeping.

Christmas was awsome! w00t! Chilled on Saturday, went to the G-parents house on Sunday. I got assualted by five little 2nd cousins… I think that’s what they would be… they’re my cousins children. They kept coming up and talking to me. I would talk back, naturally. We had conversations about spider man. And bat man. And Super man. They cheerfully accused me of being a bad guy, grandpa, uncle Nay Nay(what they call my cousin nathan), and frosty the snow man. They would sit on me, climb on me, try and pin my arms down, try to beat me up. They’re all 2-4ish age and very talkative. My father got something called Flarp… it’s like that gack stuff from Nickolodian. It comes in this little tube, and when set up properly it makes farting sounds. Naturally my dad shows this to the kids, then gives it to them to run free with it. A little later I’m sitting there in my chair and I hear a realistic tooty sound behind me. Wouldn’t you know it, there were 4 kids back there giggling as they crouched back there setting me up. LOL! I laughed so hard, it was hilarrious. Who knew that kids at that age were capable of that kind of forsighted mischeviousness. Also I got to catch up with a lot of the family I haven’t seen in ages. I was usually having two conversations at once. One with kids while I talked to a grown-up. Good laughs.
