Yeah, last weekend was teh PDX LAN!! It started on Friday, and I went over there after work. And after I installed some new fans and cables in my computer. Anyway, it was crazy kewl. I already knew what to expect because I’ve been there before… same location and everything. Yeah, there were about 430 computer gamers there doin’ their thing. Almost all had case mods. Lots of glowing lights. Jesse, John and I sat near the back of the room, opposit side from the stage. It was dark and cold there because they have the AC cranked… 500 computer put out a lot of heat.
I played a couple new games like Coll of Duty(CoD), and the infamous Counter Strike(CS). I mostly just played Unreal Tournament 2004(UT2k4). I was in the UT2k4 tournament too. I played Legolas in the first round… oddly enough the person used a female skin… and when I met him after the match he was a well rounded fellow. Nice guy. It was a pretty close match. He definately didn’t make it easy for me. He kept picking up the Flak Canon, my weapon of choice. So I had to settle for the lighning gun and shock rifle… long range precision weapons. Unfortunatly for him my aim was on. I beat him 24 to 21.
Next round I played Chaos from the PDX clan. I got totaly pwned. I think the score was 40 to 3 or something when the server died. I had fun though. He was one of the best there, so I knew he was going to destroy me. I was happy to get him a couple times… and I stayed alive pretty long when he spotted me. I just couldn’t cuz through his armor… witch he always had a lot of.
Anyway, fun stuff. Jesse, Jon and I went to the hotels pool and hot tub to wind down. We ended the night with some UT2k4 CTF InstaGib. That was crazy and fun too. I know that all of my non-gamer friends will have a hard time even carring about what happened at the LAN. I skipped alot. I plan to do it all again in august though… 1000 people! That’ll be great!
Work time… peace!
Yup, apparently it’s ground hogs day. It’s sunny out so the silly ferrit will most likely see it’s shadow and there-fore winter will go on for another while. Or however that shin-dig goes. I’m watching Ground Hogs Day tonight, non-the-less because it’s funny. And I haven’t seen it for a while. And it’s still ground hogs day at 7:30 tonight.
Anyway, not much to tell. I cleaned my room. I found a new way to download Anime… there’s a fantastic fact you may not have known. I’m nerdular enough to enjoy cartoons from a foregn land. Since I have cable now, I suddenly have 4 gigs and counting. I’m looking at new hard drives too, lol. mushi mushi?
Anywhoot, I’m heading down to Corvallis as of Saturday. I’ll drop by Monmouth on the way down to eat a dinner made by a certain friend who shall remain Erin. Then it’s off to play a lot of games untill I get sick of Jesse kicking my butt… which will probably be until Sunday night. Practicing for PDX LAN, get my skillz back if I can. I haven’t touched UT2k4 in over a month, I’m a little rusty. Ok, a little is an over statement. I’m a down right n00b.
I’m off to work again… it keeps all sneeking up on my and shtuff. Laterz
Yeah, home depot is a no go. They don’t have room for me, so I’m now officially not a De Pot member any longer. Umm… not much really happened today. Just work and stuff… things are going pretty damn good there. I think that the assosiates are getting used to me. The know-it-all of the group isn’t looking at me like a moron as much any more.
Oh yeah, I played Unreal Tournament 2004 tonight and I BEAT JESSE TWICE at it. This may sound like no a big thing… maybe even egotistical gloating. BUT you have no idea. Were’ talking hundreds, nearing thousands of games here. Think of the game you know best. Now think of the best person you know personaly at that game. Now imagine, if you can, that some switch got tripped in you, and suddenly you’re as good as that person… maybe even a little better. That’s how I’m feeling right now. Normaly I am playing at my BEST by getting half Jesse’s score. Playing that well I’m feeling that I gave him a little compatition. Tonight, not only did I beat him… in the second game he was THIRD place. I’m savoring this moment while I can because Jesse HATES losing. BTW, this fact adds to this days sweetness since he’s a cocky little punk when he’s winning. Alas, I expect to be severely pounded back into my place tomorrow night.
Anyw00t… I got payed… wonder how I’ll spend it…
Exactly one week was the last time I wrote. Oh well, so far that I know of I have an audince of two or three anyway. I’m just sitting here a half an hour before work and eating a quadruple decker peanut-butter and jelly eggo(yes the waffles) sandwitch. Hey, it was quick, easy and I love PBJ. Hmm… events… well, last monday was my day off and I spent the whole day playing UT2004 and BattleField Vietnam. Yah, lots of killing friends, curses, laughing at silly bots and I watched “They Were Soldures.” Wow, that was a good movie. It was emotional too, I can’t emagine what it’s like to be in a family with soldures. My cousin went to Iraq for a little while, but that’s still a little detached. I would hear about him here and there from grandparents or a cousin. But to be a brother or dad, or son, always worrying and wondering if they’re ok. That would be tough.
Anyway, we played until aobut 4:30 am(we started about noon the day before :p) then Jesse and Ben introduced me to Trogdor, and some of Strongbads other e-mails. We laughed, then we cryed when we realized that we had to work the next day… so with burning eyes, explosions behind our lids and twitching mouse fingers Ben and I slept on the floor with a blanket and pillow(each) near the computers while Jesse got to sleep in his comfy bed. It didn’t matter though, I was out in an instant.
I just read through my past journals, it’s kind of entertaining doing that. So I descided to post again, while I’m in the mood to do so. Yesterday was phun. I went to work. Answered phones while looking up Japanese words to put on a piece of paper to learn. The call of the day was a lady calling about her monitor. I handled her ignorence, impatience, and narrow mindedness badly. She didn’t know how the make the screen on her monitor streatch to the full screen; she was the one who accadentaly put it there to begin with, she admited that. But she didn’t have an engineering degree or the time to sit there and figure out how to function the little menu with the self-explanitory icons that made a monitor slightly less sophisticated than a microwave oven. I was mummbling and grumbling and wanting to strangle something when I was done.
I got to play games and kill things last night. BattleField Vietnam and Unreal Tournament 2004 came out yesterday and Jesse wanted to try em out. We were up until 2 playing these fabulous games. He’s trying to get me to buy them for myself so I can play with his friends and him next week during spring break. If I do that all constructive spirit and responsabilitys will fly out the window… thus I am reluctant.
Now I must work. Oh yah! Payday! w00t!
