*sniff*

My computer is out of commission… in a good way… I’m supposidly getting my new memory tomorrow. I gave back the temporary memory because I need the money to register my car. That leaves me with my second computer sitting in it’s place in all of it’s crappy slowness. I couldn’t get it to work on the internet this morning either, hope I can fix that tonight… or I’ll end up bored. Or playing the piano.

Anyway… I saw a Lotus Elise today… wicked sick looking car. It’s so small too. I don’t think I could fit in it. But yeah… it was pretty.

Anyway… uhh… you rock. That’s all I have to say about that…

Taxed memory

I OWE on my state taxes!! *shakes fist* It’s only 30 bucks… and I’m getting around $200 federal… but still.

Computerish rant coming on:

I also called Corsair Memory today. Apparently they just sent out my memory today. 3day UPS. But I’m irritated. I sent in that memory two weeks ago as of today. It takes three days to get there. The guy who e-mailed me said it would take 48 hours. The forums say it would take 72 hours. Giving the memory time to get there and weekends, that’s 7 days. 168 hours as they like to put it. WTF!? I don’t mind so much… but I want my MEMORY DAMN IT! You don’t tell someone that the thing they’re looking forward to will happen in this time… then take double the time to accomplish it. It’s just cruel. Anyway… I’m taking back the RAM I have in my compter now because I need the money… so I’ll be without my baby for a couple days. I’ll be using a crappy machine in it’s stead. My computer will be back friday night… I hope…

Uggghhh….

Sometimes I hate computers. Wasted 2 hours of my life tweaking and poking this stupid ECS motherboard… nothing special, just getting windows to work properly. For some stupid reason it doesn’t like the drivers and Windows 98 is too primative to be able to actually run a search for them. Windows XP is so much nicer for doing that kind of thing, at least it’s able to make a guess as to what it needs drivers FOR!

Anyway, I have a much more interesting project ahead of me… I’m making a Linux file server because I want to prove how much of an uber nerd I am. On top of that I’m going to try getting it to boot with a SCSI hard drive I salvaged from an old macintosh. It’ll have 3 CD-Roms, and likely 6 hard drives if the power supply can take it. They’re small hard drives I’ve had sitting around for the past few years… but it’ll still be a impressive display of cables inside the case. It will be far less frustrating than dealing with this ECS board. It’s so much worse when you know what you’re doing but stuff still refuses to work… good thing those computer parts were free.

Computerzes… errr

Bloody computers… I come home to find my computer NOT BOOTING, Oh no. Wont boot in Safe Mode, Wahh?! Reinstall windows, there we go. Little compter act ups like that always scare me. Oh well, I’ll probably redo everything after I get a couple new components anyway.

Well, it looks like I’m about to be promoted to telesales at work. Not a huge promotion, but I wont have to work my butt off any more. Yes! More time off to do… guess I still need to figure that part out. I have a lame idea for a web site, maybe I’ll play with that and turn it into a moderately lame idea for a website. We’ll see.
